    A strong storm swept across Missouri and Illinois this afternoon, damaging utility poles and bringing down lines throughout Southwestern Electric Cooperative’s service area. As of 5:15 p.m., more than 4,400 members of Southwestern are without power.

  • Outage During System Upgrade in Bond County Monday, July 11, 2016
    Southwestern members east of the Reno Substation will experience an outage this morning as line crews upgrade the distribution system in that area. The outage, which is expected to last from 9 a.m. to noon, will affect members in the area east of West Ayers Road, west of Mount Tabor Avenue, north of Sorento Avenue, and south of Hopewell Avenue.

    A downed line interrupted power to 1,100 Southwestern Electric members in Madison County this afternoon. The single-phase line, which was dislodged from a utility pole at Season’s Village subdivision in Maryville, tripped several breakers, interrupting power to members served by the cooperative’s Maryville Substation.

    More than 1,000 Southwestern Electric members served by Maryville substation are without power this afternoon. Line crews are working to isolate the cause of the outage, which started at 4:01 p.m. As of 4:30 p.m., no estimated time of restoration was available.
