  • Ameren Transmission Line Fault Interrupts Service to 2,900 Southwestern Members Tuesday, July 16, 2019
    At 10 a.m., an Ameren transmission line fault interrupted power to three Southwestern Electric substations in Madison County. Members served by Southwestern’s Edwardsville, St. Jacob and Fruit Road Substations are affected by the outage. In total, about 2,900 members are currently without power.
  • Ameren Equipment Issue Interrupts Power to 600 Southwestern Members Friday, July 5, 2019
    An Ameren equipment failure this morning resulted in 600 Southwestern Electric members losing power shortly before 6 a.m. The outage is affecting Bond County members from I-70 south to Keyesport Road, and from Millersburg Road east to Mulberry Grove Road.
  • Repair Requires Afternoon Outage For New Douglas Area Members Thursday, July 4, 2019
    Co-op members in the New Douglas area will experience an interruption in service this afternoon while line crews replace a damaged utility pole near Southwestern’s New Douglas Substation. The outage is expected to begin at 1 p.m., with repairs being completed and power restored by about 3 p.m.

    Southwestern Electric crews continue to repair damage in Madison, Bond and Fayette counties this evening after a line of thunderstorms swept along the I-70 corridor, damaging infrastructure and bringing down powerlines late this afternoon.

    Southwestern members who reside on Staunton Road south of I-70 will be without power for several hours this evening as crews repair damage from strong winds that damaged infrastructure and dropped powerlines across the interstate.
  • Storms Interrupt Service To 725 Southwestern Members Wednesday, June 26, 2019
    A line of thunderstorms sweeping though the I-70 corridor this evening has left 725 Southwestern Electric members without service. As of 5:30 p.m., 470 Madison County members were without power, while 200 members in Fayette County and 55 Bond County members were without service.

    Thunderstorms moving through the region this afternoon are interrupting service to members of Southwestern Electric Cooperative.
  • Substation Offline For Repairs; Crews Expect To Restore Power In One Hour Sunday, June 23, 2019
    Southwestern Electric crews are repairing a piece of damaged substation equipment near Pocahontas this evening. The work will interrupt power to about 1,100 members in the Pocahontas area for approximately one hour. Repairs are expected to begin at about 10 p.m.
  • Outage Affects 1,070 Members in Co-op's Eastern Counties Sunday, June 9, 2019
    About 1,070 co-op members in Effingham, Fayette and Shelby counties lost power this evening when Southwestern Electric’s Wrights Corner and Edgewood substations went offline.
  • Crews Responding to Wind-Related Outages Wednesday, June 5, 2019
    Thunderstorms and strong winds have interrupted service to about 375 Southwestern Electric members this evening. Most of the outages are concentrated in Madison County, where 240 members lost power shortly after 6 p.m.
