Crews Contend With High Winds; Restore Power to More Than 700 Members
Sunday, February 24, 2019

6 a.m.

Linemen have restored power to more than 700 members this morning, working in challenging conditions as sustained high winds with strong gusts continue to rake the area.

Crews began responding to outages shortly after 1 a.m. as winds moved into the region. At 4 a.m., about 760 members were without power. By 5 a.m., crews had restored power to 430 members. As of 6 a.m., about 40 members remained without service.

A National Weather Service wind advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Forecasts call for winds of 20 to 30 mph today with gusts reaching 50 mph, making widespread, scattered outages likely through early evening.

Members are cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging power lines. The lines may be energized, or become energized without warning.
