Crews Replacing Broken Poles; Power Restored to More Than 700 Members
Sunday, February 24, 2019

7 a.m.

Crews are currently on site at several locations in Madison and Fayette Counties, replacing broken poles and repairing downed lines, working to restore power to about 40 members who remain without service this morning.

Linemen restored power overnight to nearly 800 members who lost service as high winds with strong gusts swept through the area, dropping trees and limbs into power lines.

Crews began responding to outages shortly after 1 a.m. At 4 a.m., about 760 members were without power. By 6 a.m., crews had restored power to more than 700 members.

A National Weather Service wind advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Forecasts call for winds of 20 to 30 mph today with gusts reaching 50 mph, making widespread, scattered outages likely through early evening.

Members are cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging power lines. The lines may be energized, or become energized without warning.
