Crews Making Repairs; 630 Remain Without Power
Wednesday, June 26, 2019

7:10 p.m.

Southwestern Electric crews continue to repair damage in Madison, Bond and Fayette counties this evening after a line of thunderstorms swept along the I-70 corridor, damaging infrastructure and bringing down powerlines late this afternoon.

As of 7 p.m., about 630 Southwestern Electric members remained without power, including 280 members in both Madison and Fayette counties, and 70 members in Bond County.

Southwestern members who reside on Staunton Road south of I-70 will be without power for several hours tonight as crews repair infrastructure and snapped lines that fell across the interstate, requiring law enforcement officials to stop traffic, clearing the way for repairs.

Members are cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging lines, as they may be energized or become energized at any time.
