About 1,100 Southwestern Electric members lost power this morning when an Ameren transmission line fault interrupted power to the cooperative’s Worden and New Douglas Substations. Ameren and Southwestern crews and have been dispatched to isolate the source of the fault.
The outage, which began shortly before 9:45 a.m., is affecting members from the Macoupin-Madison County line south to Fruit Road, and from Brickyard Hill Road east to Old Ripley Road.
About 30 members east of Pocahontas also lost service this morning. Crews have been dispatched to make repairs.
11:20 a.m. Update: Have have resolved the outages and restored power.
